Raymond Miller Obituary

Mr. Raymond “Ray” Miller, 79, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Ray is the husband of Susie Kaufman Miller. They have been married for 58 years. He is the father of Lisa (Gary) Gingerich of Abbeville, SC, Wade (Rose) Miller of Williston SC, Twila (John) Yoder of Wagener, SC, Joyce (Mike) Glick of Seneca, SC, Sandra (Lynn) Miller of Partridge, KS, Lillie (Kevin) Troyer of Blowing Rock, NC, Tony (Niki) Miller of Dundee, NY, and Gloria (Jonathan) Overholt of Jesup, GA. Ray is the grandfather of 30 and the great grandfather of 13. He is the brother of Howard (Jean) Miller, Leon (Judy) Miller, Fred (Leona) Miller, Willis (Betty) Miller, Dave (Kathy) Miller, Etta (Howard) Miller, Emma (Orvy) Whetstone, and Lorene (Junior) Anderson all of Northern Indiana.

Ray was born August 13, 1942 in Nappanee, Indiana to the late Sadie and Marvin Miller.

He is also preceded in death by his brothers: Marvin Miller, Junior Miller, Sam Miller, sister: Mary Helmuth, and a loving granddaughter: Ashley Marie Glick.

Ray had numerous jobs and occupations to support his family but Susie and Ray’s greatest career achievement was starting and managing Miller’s Bread Basket for 29 years.

Ray loved people (and hearing their stories), he was especially compassionate to those less fortunate. Among other things important to him was church life, his animals, and he was also especially passionate about sharing the story of Noah and the redemption power of God.

In lieu of flowers or memorials the family asks that you honor the memory of Dad by finding a person in need and offer your resources to those less fortunate than you. Pay it forward!

The Miller family will be honoring Ray’s life with a private service.
