Pelion - Rhonda Lynn McDonald Newman, 59, entered into rest Wednesday, November 18, 2020.
Rhonda was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born in Kershaw county to the late James and Dorothy Miller McDonald. Rhonda was blessed to be raised by Donnie and Connie Skipper.
Rhonda left this world with the greatest appreciation for life and love. As she smiles down on us from heaven we know that without a doubt we were perfect in her eyes. Her colorful life will always bring laughter to our family gatherings when we share her unforgettable memories.
Rhonda took pride in being a patient care giver and in her younger years was known to sling a hammer on a construction site but her greatest accomplishment was her sons. She was never prouder than when she talked about John or Shannon. She knew John's potential and strength and believed in him before he believed in himself. Shannon and Rhonda never disappointed for a good laugh when they were cutting up together about the same story that they both told differently. She was most proud of the great father's both boys have become. John and his wife Amy of Pelion were honored to have cared for her in their home until she stepped thru those Pearly Gates.
Rhonda was also blessed with 2 Sons at Heart, Donnie Skipper, Jr. (Alexis) of Salley and Joshua Skipper (Hope) of Pelion. Her grandchildren Addison, Kaden aka Bubba, Jaxtyn, Hailey, Serenity, Nicolas, Stormy, Carolina, Raleigh, Zion, Isaac, Elias, Kennedy, Koen, Kypton, Amerson and Arian brought her more joy than you could ever imagine.
Rhonda was the sister to the late Curtis Skipper, Benny (Caroyln) Skipper, Billy Skipper, Michael Skipper, Toby McDonald and Jason McDonald. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Beatrice Eisele, Tracy (Bryan) Schnieders and brother Donnie (Connie) Skipper all of Pelion and her sister-in-law Catherine Skipper of Swansea.
A remembrance service will be held December 5, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church in Pelion at 11am. Please practice social distancing and local Covid-19 guidelines.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Agape Hospice Care for their service and the exceptional care given by her RN Beth, her CNA Suzie and Pastor David. And to her beloved Dr Dunbar who she trusted her health with for more than 20 years, Thank you!
