Robert "Eddie" Edwins Collins

Aiken – Mr. Robert Edwins “Eddie” Collins, 84, entered into rest Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Left to cherish Eddie’s memories are his loving wife of 65 years, Scarlett Brown Collins, daughters; Alissa Jill Collins Potvin and her husband Michael and Jana Beth Collins Potvin and her husband Frank, grandchildren; Jessa M. Potvin, John M. Potvin, Jenna M. Potvin, Molly E. Potvin, and Katherine O. Potvin.

Eddie was born in Aiken County. He is the son of the late Robert Ellerby Collins and the late Mildred Edith Rish Collins Williams.

Eddie and Scarlett were high school sweethearts. They were married December 21, 1960, and lived in Aiken. Eddie was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf and working to provide for his family. Eddie played all sports at Wagener High School where he lettered in each sport. He officiated high school football and basketball for the state of SC. Eddie retired after many years at the Savannah River Site.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Eddie’s honor may be made to Bethcar Baptist Church, P.O. Box 546, Wagener, S.C. 29164.

The family expresses their gratefulness to the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.

A Graveside Service will be Friday, May 1, 2026 at 2:00 pm in Wagener Cemetery, 262 Columbia Road, Wagener, SC 29164.
