Roger Yon

Mr. Roger Carroll Yon, 67, entered into rest surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Left to cherish Roger’s memories are his wife of seven and a half years, Janet Lee Smith Yon; his son, Joshua “Josh” Carroll Yon; grandchildren, Murray Patrick Stow-Yon, Daniel McKenley Smith and his wife Abby, Mendi Dawn Watkins and her fiancé Will, Cynthia Teresa Watkins, and Lyndi Sue Watkins; and great grandson, Asher Wayne Smith; siblings, Jeffery Yon and Sandra Yon Seay; his in-laws, Jon Wayne Smith and Gloria Jean Smith; and his faithful and beloved dog Danno.

Roger is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Patrick Yon; his parents Bobby Carroll Yon and Peggy Ann Smith Yon; and his sister Debra Yon Jackson.

Roger was a carpenter by trade. He was an avid baseball fan and loved to fish. Roger had a heart of gold. To be loved by him was an honor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to any of the cancer organizations.

Visitation will be 1:30 pm- 3 pm on Friday July 26, 2024 at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 3 pm also in the chapel. Roger will be laid to rest at Perry Baptist Church Cemetery next to his son Daniel.
