Ronald Alan Zook

Fairview – Mr. Ronald Alan Zook, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 29, 2023.

Mr. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Williams Zook. He is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Zook Stanley, and Mona Zook Sansbury; his sister and brother in laws, Perry Poole, Judy Sharpe and her husband Donald, and Emmalee Zimmerman and her husband Bobby; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Ronald was born on December 8, 1944, in Columbia, SC to the late Emmie Marie Gantt Zook and the late Sherman Paul Zook. He is also predeceased by his sister, Doris Mae Zook Derrick and her husband Aubrey; and brother in laws, William Stanley, and Gary Sansbury.

Mr. Ronald attended St. John’s Lutheran Church where he faithfully served the church in many capacities. He and Mrs. Bobbie later attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He served in the South Carolina National Guard. Mr. Ronald worked as a welder for Pulliam Ford, Nassau Metals Corp., Lanier Construction, and retired from Blanchard Equipment. He loved the outdoors, he especially loved gardening and working around his ponds. Mr. Ronald was a giver, sharing his produce with many in the community. Anytime local farmers needed a welder, he was always available with his talent to help. Mr. Ronald was a faithful and loving husband. Mrs. Bobbie will dearly miss him.

Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 3 pm on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Ronald’s honor to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 144 Pelion, 29123.
