SGM Jerry Richard Pressley, Sr., USAR, Retired, 77, fought his last battle and entered into rest Thursday, December 10, 2020.

SGM Pressley was married to Patricia "Pat" Ann Rogers Pressley for fifty-one years December 9th. He is the father of Barry Pressley and his wife Bonnie, the late Toni Pressley, Butch Pressley and his wife Tina, Jerry Pressley and his wife Jody, Sherry Ann Pressley Black and her husband Ron, Rick Pressley and his wife Tracie, and Cory Jean Pressley Davis and her husband Stacy. He is Papa of Jessica Pressley, Nicole and Dalton Snelgrove, Leah Anne and Jorge Bustamante, Blake and Erica Conner, Brittni Pressley, Kaley and Alan Thompson, Caleb Pressley, Justan Pressley, Josh Pressley, Alana Pressley, the late Barry Finley Jr., Lisa Marie and Brandon Wallace, Hayven Pressley, Zack Holden, Ryan and Lauren Pressley, Corder Paul Tidwell, Jack Davis, and the late Joshua Davis. His great grandchildren also call him Papa and they are Kadence Guinn, Brayden English, Audrianna Bustamante, Everleigh Bustamante, Jameson Conner, Parker Thompson, Pressley Thompson, Madilyn Pressley, Miles Cooper Pressley, Kyler Pressley, Braley Wallace. Haleigh Wallace, Harley Finley, Bentley Wallace, Skyleigh Holden, Waylon Tidwell, and Rowan Davis. SGM Pressley was the son of the late Emory Coyle Pressley and the late Eva Loree Patterson Pressley. He is the brother of the late Ruby Jeanette Pressley Butler, Ruth Pressley Swanson, and E. C. Pressley. He is the son-in-law of Margie Rogers. He is the brother-in-law of John Rogers and his wife Lisa, Paul Rogers and his wife Joyce, Libby Price and her husband James, Phillip Rogers and his wife Lorraine, Mary Loss and her husband Gregg, Martha Campbell, and Vista Lewis and her husband Jack.

SGM Pressley was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in the Vietnam War where he was awarded a Purple Heart twice. His service took him and his family to Germany twice, Korea, Colorado, Texas, Louisianna, Alabama, and South Carolina. SGM Pressley retired after twenty-one and a half devoted years of service. He was an American Hero. Following his retirement from the U. S. Army, he continued to work to support his family for another seventeen years. SGM Pressley loved his family very much and talked about them with everyone.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 5 – 7 pm in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A Service to Celebrate the life of SGM Pressley will be Monday, December 14, 2020 at 1 pm in the Dolorosa Worship Center, Caroll Hurley Family Resource Center. Burial will follow in the Wagener Cemetery with military honors. The Rev. Thomas Doolittle will be ministering.
