Aiken – Mr. Stephen “Steve” Anthony Ferlita, Jr., 89, entered into rest Wednesday, December 2, 2020

Mr. Steve was married to the late Flora Lee Ferlita for 32 years at her passing in 2019. He is the father of Debbie Holland and her husband Jeffery, Angela Norman and her husband Chuck, Maria Graves and her husband Danny, Linda Heyward and her husband Bernie, Regina “Gina” Simmons and her husband Noel, and the late Victoria “Vickie” Gore. He is preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his six daughters, Mary Joy Patterson. 

Mr. Steve is the grandfather of a Stephen T. Holland and his wife Ashley, Melissa J. Holland, Jeffery A. Holland, Jr. and his wife Shelby, Angelina J. Gore, Micah Norman and his wife Lou, Nathan Norman and his wife Katie, Hannah Hafley and her husband Johnnie, Benjamin S. Norman and his wife Tori, Sarah E. Burke and her husband Abel, Leah Hall and her husband Justin, Mary Grace Norman, Naomi Joy Norman, Kristina Graves, Johnathan Graves and his wife Jessica, Alexandria “Ali” Bruce and her husband Kenan, Second Lieutenant Joshua Owen Heyward US Army and his wife Melissa, Bethany Heyward Cline and her husband Joshua, Mariah Heyward Shealy and her husband Joshua, Joseph Anthony Heyward, Abigail Tabitha Heyward, Jacob Samuel Heyward, Jennifer Lee Stewart and her husband Ben, Taylor Noel Simmons, and Summer Logan Simmons. He is the step grandfather of Stephanie Correa and Reanna Rene Chatfield-Samuels.

Mr. Steve is the great grandfather of Kyleigh Adkins, Wyatt Holland, Lila Holland, Asher Holland, Gabriel Anthony Vega, Adelaide Norman, Jude Norman, Julia Norman, Lily Beth Norman, Nat Norman, Cassia Norman, Levi Hafley, Ellee Faith Hafley, Eleanor Graves, Sophia Graves, Jayce Bruce, Liam Bruce, Anniston Grace Heyward, Jase Owen Heyward, Briea Tillman Heyward, EmmaKate Ansleigh Cline, Townsend Collins Cline, Winston Madden Shealy, Bentley Stewart, Maggie Stewart, Gianna Correa and Jazel Correa.  Mr. Steve is the stepfather of Pamela “Pam” McDaniel and the late David Kappeler and his wife Kate Kappeler. He is the son of the late Dr. Stephen Anthony Ferlita and the late Josephine Cerniglia Ferlita and the brother of the late Marianna R. Fava-Peyton.

Mr. Steve is a Veteran of the United States Army. He is a member of Grace Covenant Church of God in New Ellenton. He retired from a life-long career at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He was awarded Top Salesman of the year and won a trip to send his family to Disney World. Mr. Steve is a devoted father to his six daughters. He loved his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. Mr. Steve enjoyed the outdoors, especially walking, gardening, and playing tennis. Mr. Steve had a passion for displaying the love of Jesus. He was a prayer warrior and had a nursing home ministry as well. Mr. Steve was known for passing out Gospel Tracks everywhere he went. He was a member of The Full Gospel Businessmen Association and was an active member of March for Jesus. He was proud to have visited the Holy Land. Most importantly, Mr. Steve spent his life sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serving the Lord.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday January 24, 2021  at Grace Covenant Church of God in New Ellenton, S.C.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3 pm with military honors performed by the United States Army.
