Steve is survived by his wife of 30 years, Catherine Gale Motes Day, children: Tiara (Cody) Durst, Thelma (Legrand Jeffcoat) Tindal, Lewis (Angela Davenport) Tindal, Bryan (Kristi Beasley) Tindal, Crystal (William Moore) Tindal, Jason (Jenna Shumpert) Tindal, Ashley Chaples, and Tina (Shannon) Mauldin, grandchildren: Tresure Rain Day, Nova Durst, D.J. Wesson, Nicholas Wesson, Parker Ryan Matthews, Tylen Watts, Laura (Cameron) Barlett, Krista Tindal, Haley (Quinton Corbett) Foster, Alexis (Tony Barnes) Tindal, Jayden (Bryson Byrd) Tindal, Lewis (Mattie) Tindal, III, Evan Tindal, Shane Malon-Tindal, Amber Tindal, Jacob Tindal, Emily Tindal, Zach Tindal, Adrian Rodriguez, Bishop McMillian, Zoe Moore, Zion Moore, Trinity Moore, Eden Moore, Elise Moore, Carter Moore, Hannah Tindal, Casey Randall, Kaytlin Tindal, Jason Tindal, Jr., Nathen Tindal, Hunter Tindal, Ryleigh Tindal, Lucas Tindal, Thomas Chaples, Jr., Scarlett Chapels, Dalton Chaples, Levi Chaples, and Easton Chaples, many great grandchildren, son-in-law, Tyler Watts, siblings: Billy Joe (Lisa) Day, Penny (Ricky) Cox, and Tammy Tumbleston, in-laws: Belvin Motes, Terry Motes, Darryl (Kimberly) Motes, Regina Motes, Theresa Sebo, Darlene Motes, and many nieces and nephews..

He is preceded in death by his parents: Rudolph Sylvester Jackson and Peggy Jean Day, his daughters: Lori Tindal and Tara Tindal, son-in-law, Tommy Chapels, in-laws: Dale Motes, Leon Motes, Wayne Motes, Emma Motes, and Linda (L.H.) Tindal.

Steve was a hard worker and enjoyed spending time outdoors. His favorite place to be walking on the beach with his wife, Catherine. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.

Visitation will be 1-2 pm on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 2 pm also in the chapel. Rev. Chris Addy will be officiating.
