Pelion – Mrs. Tammy Malissa Merrill, 50, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Tammy was the beloved wife of Lee Merrill, with whom she shared twenty years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Tyler Jordan Smith and Jonathon Travis Smith, along with his better half, Amber Culp. Tammy was a cherished grandmother—“Mimi”—to Brantley Davis, Harper-Rae Smith, Kensleigh Smith, Emmalynn Smith, and Sophie Davis, whom she loved as a granddaughter.
She was the daughter of Kathie (Robbie) Hutto and Rick (Diane) Woodle, Jr. Tammy is survived by her sisters: Krystal (Toby) Taylor, Gennifer (Ross) Branham, Lisa (Shaun) Worley, Melissa Bargeron, and Joyce DeCaprio. She was the granddaughter of Glenda Martin and the late Asbury Martin, Mary Martin, Carl Woodle, and Frances Castles. Tammy was also the beloved daughter-in-law of Shannon L. and Harriete A. Merrill. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tammy was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and loved sharing her faith. She was a member of Convent Baptist Church. Autumn was her favorite season—especially anything pumpkin spice. She enjoyed coffee, candles, and crafts. Tammy was passionate about British television, castles, and all things English. Above all, she found her greatest joy in being a wife, mother, sister, and especially a grandmother. She also had a deep love for teaching and caring for children.
Plans for Tammy’s Celebration of Life Service are underway, with updates to follow when finalized.
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13 (KJV)
