Thelma (Chavis) Jeffcoat

Ms. Thelma Chavis Jeffcoat, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Ms. Thelma was married for 54 years to Rollo T. Jeffcoat at his passing in 2008. She is the mother of Alvin “Al” Jeffcoat and his wife Sandra and her daughter Karen Williams and her husband Michael, and the late Tracy Jeffcoat. Ms. Thelma was affectionately known as “GaMa” by her grandchildren; Jamie Jeffcoat and his wife Jody, Kelley Smith and her husband Corey, Josh Moore and his wife Brandi, Justin Hallman and his wife Kaitlyn, Sarah Williams, and Kaila Tarrant and her husband Jeremy, and her great grandchildren; Reese Jeffcoat, Bradley Smith, Bryson Smith, Christian Moore, Jacob Moore, Carson Hallman, Cooper Hallman, and Penelope Tarrant. She is the daughter of the late Gary and Cola Chavis. Ms. Thelma is the sister of the late Helen Sharpe.

Ms. Thelma was a member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church. She retired as a seamstress. Ms. Thelma was known for her cooking. She enjoyed cooking for her family on Sundays and going to the mountains with her family and friends. She loved the Gamecocks, Dale Earnhardt, Elvis Presley, the Braves, and the Colts from Johnny Unitas to Payton Manning. Ms. Thelma’s most treasured times were spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be forever loved and missed.

Visitation will be 2:30-4 pm on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Rocky Grove Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be at 4 pm also in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Salley Oakview Cemetery where Ms. Thelma will be laid to rest next to her husband Rollo.
