Thomas "Tommy" Patrick Gunter

Thomas Patrick (Tommy) Gunter, 53 passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 30th at his mother's home in Columbia, SC.

Born in the old Richland Memorial Hospital on Harden Street, Thomas was the son  of Gerald Clarence (Jerry Gunter) of Orlando Florida and Mary Ellen (Collette) Gunter-Peters of West Columbia.

Thomas attended schools in Wagener, Aiken and Columbia and was a Design and Remodeling self-employed contractor in the Charlotte area.

Tommy's other passion was music and he was instrumental in bringing together numerous local rock and roll bands in the Columbia area in the 1980's and 1990's.,

In addition to his parents and step-mother Debra Gunter, Thomas is survived by his children Jerica Gunter and Micheal Gunter of Columbia, the mother of his children, Wendy Johansen Gunter of Gaston, his grandchildren, Elijah Gunter and Lazarus P, Gunter of Columbia, A sister, Stephanie N Reely and her sons, James and Cameron of Lexington.

Also surviving him is his long-term companion Karen Kossow and her children, Chelsea and Justin of Gastonia, NC.

Visitation for Thomas will take place on, Saturday, December 12th 6-8pm at Blizzard Funeral Home Chapel, 163 Main Street South Wagener, SC.   Services will be at Hope Lutheran Church 1400 Kennerly Rd. Irmo, SC at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 13th with burial at Seivern Baptist Church Cemetery 1335 Seivern Rd, Wagener, SC.

Due to the current health pandemic, Social Distancing will be enforced and masks are required both in the funeral home chapel and in the church.
