Troy Heyward Obituary

Aiken – Troy Glenn Heyward, 57, went to be with Jesus, Tuesday, January 15th, 2019.

Troy is the father of Kenneth “K.J.” Heyward of Aiken, Aleese Whittamore and her husband Shane of Brookville, IN, and Kyle Heyward and his wife Jessica of Greensburg, IN. He is the grandfather of Kanon Whittamore, Tatum Whittamore, Raylen Heyward, Hadley Heyward, and McKenna Heyward (on the way). Troy is the son of Burnett Owen Heyward and Betty Jean Hutto Heyward of Aiken.  He is the brother of Bernie Heyward and his wife Linda of Aiken and Cindy Blizzard and her husband Wilson of Perry.  Troy had many nieces and nephews; Joshua Heyward, Bethany Cline, Mariah Shealy, Maquel Jackson, Joseph Heyward, Abigail Heyward, and Jacob Heyward.

Troy is a proud veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Millbrook Baptist Church.  Troy loved his children and his family dearly. You were special to Troy if you received a nickname.  Troy was also known as Big Daddy Get Down Heyward and Bubba T, both given nicknames by himself.  He was well known for joking and aggravating people.  He loved Krispy Kreme donuts, a rib eye from Texas Roadhouse and Carmel Frappuccinos.  Troy loved life and brought laughter in any and all situations. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and the Gamecocks.  Troy had a special relationship with his recliner, relaxing by watching Wrestling, Nascar, golf, football and Live PD.  He was well known for embarrassing people in public. If you ever dared him to do something, be careful because he would do it. We are still hearing Troy’s legend every day. He lived life to the absolute fullest. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Chris Parker for being a life-long friend and “brother” to Troy.

Special thanks to Pruitt Heath of Swainsboro for all the care and love they gave Troy.

“Big Daddy”/ “Bubba T” will forever be in our hearts and his life will continue to bring smiles to our faces and joy to our hearts.

Visitation will be from 3 to 4 pm Sunday, January 20th, 2019 in the sanctuary of Millbrook Baptist Church.  A Service Celebrating Troy’s life will follow at 4:30 pm on Sunday also in the sanctuary with military honors.  Troy will be laid to rest Monday at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Randy Brown, Kenny Keaton, Chris Parker, Mike Sides, Thomas Smith, and Larry Vaughn.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Disabled American Veterans local chapter: DAV-Aiken #43, PO Box 6346, Aiken SC 29802.
