Virginia Baxley Faust, 95, passed away on March 21, 2026, at Pruitt Health in Aiken. She was born in Orangeburg County to the late Wilbur Rupert and Lurline Williams Baxley on November 16, 1930, and was the second of five siblings. She lived in Kitchings Mill most of her life and was a lifelong member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. After being a homemaker for many years, she worked as a Library Assistant at East Aiken Elementary for ten years, beginning in 1984. She enjoyed trips to the mountains and beach and often reminisced about memories of summer trips to Edisto Beach with her siblings and "the children".
Virginia’s faith was strong and she was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who brought warmth and kindness to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her sweet nature, gentle soul, beautiful smile, and twinkling blue eyes.
She is survived by her children, Caroline Clarke (Kurt) Wiese, Ann Clarke (Ronnie Blackwell) Groh, and Mary Beth Faust (David) Cormany; her grandchildren; Kevin (Ava) Connaughton, Todd (Lauren) Groh, Melissa (James) Fookes, Kelly (Sean) Bihealer, Katie (Tucker) Huff, Emily (Duncan Morgan) Edwards, and Jonathan (Tiffany) Edwards; six great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, James Connor Faust, and her first husband, Van E. Clarke; a granddaughter, Riann Elizabeth Powell; her siblings and their spouses, Willene (Aaron) Varnadoe, Amelia (Ernest) Salley, Celia (Jim) Langford, and Wilbur Rupert Baxley Jr.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 25 beginning at 2:00 pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Graveside service will begin at 3:00 pm with interment following the service. The Revs. Gareth Hegler and Steve Jones will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
