Mr. Wade Samuel Whetstone, 89, entered into rest on Monday, December 23, 2024.
Left to cherish Mr. Wade’s memories are his son; Sammy Whetstone and his wife June, and his daughter; Dottie Whetstone Hutto, his grandchildren; Dean Whetstone and his wife Angela, Kyle Whetstone and his wife Brandy, Samantha Jo Hutto Rogers and her husband Andy, and Shane Hutto, his great grandchildren; Layla Whetstone, Sam Whetstone, Cadence Whetstone, Connor Whetstone, and Kolton Rogers, his sister; Paulette Bolen, special cousin; Joyce Barrier, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wade was born September 28, 1935, son of the late Lee and Sara Mae Cooper Whetstone. He was married to the late Almeta Poole Whetstone for forty-seven years until her passing in 2003. Mr. Wade is also preceded in death by his brother; Levon Whetstone and his wife Doris, and brother-in-law; Jimmy Bolen.
Mr. Wade was a Renovation Supervisor at the University of South Carolina where he retired from in 1997 after thirty years. He was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. Mr. Wade enjoyed Carolina football and baseball. He also enjoyed playing golf. Especially before his age didn’t allow him to always beat his son and grandsons.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Clinton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship building.
