William "Bill" E. Day, Jr.

Mr. William “Bill” Elzie Day, Jr., 86, entered into rest on Monday, November 22, 2021.

Mr. Bill is the father of Alexis Faith Day, Nicholas A. Day, and William E. “Evan” Day, III. He is the grandfather of Aiden Self.  Mr. Bill raised Sam Hutto as his son. Mr. Bill is the husband of the late Donna Raye Hall Day. He is son of the late William Elzie Day, Sr. and the late Lila Bell Baughman Day. He is the brother of James Day and his wife Gladys. He is the uncle of several nieces and nephews and he is the cousin of many. 

Mr. Bill is a member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church. He had a great since of humor who liked to occasionally play a joke on those close to him. Laughter was always the end result of his pranks. Mr. Bill was a very humble man. He was kind hearted and would always do what he could to make others life better. Mr. Bill was a down to earth man. He began working on the farm with his dad and continued a very diligent work ethic working with his hands and God’s great earth. Mr. Bill also helped to raise several young children. He was known as the Straw Man around the Wagener area for over 20 years.

Visitation will be 1-2 pm Friday, December 3, 2021 at Rocky Grove Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be at 2 pm also in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Bethcar Baptist Church Cemetery.
