Mr. William “Bill” “Judge” Gregory Shockley, 85, enter into rest surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 2, 2024.
Left to cherish Bill’s memories are his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Lane Shockley; children; Cecil Gregory “Gregg” Shockley and his wife Deneen, and Constance “Connie” Shockley Garner and her husband Christopher; grandchildren; Austin L. Shockley, Grayson M. Shockley and his wife Christina, Zane G. Shockley and his fiancé Rochelle, and William C. Garner; great grandchild; Lane Miller Shockley - due in December; brother, Thomas B. Shockley and his wife Mary; and his faithful guardian and companion Buddy.
Bill was born on January 16, 1939 in Columbia to the late Cecil Gregory Shockley and the late Dorothy Constance Austin Shockley. He graduated from Dreher High School in 1958.
Bill served his country proudly in many capacities. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a constable and then became a deputy sheriff with Lexington County Sheriff’s Department from 1980 – 1989. His work with the Sheriff’s Department led him to serving as a Lexington County Summary Court Judge with the Swansea Magistrate Office, where he retired after 22 years of service. He was a Past Master of Oliver #133 Masonic Lodge in Swansea. Bill served on the Board of Directors for Lexington Medical Center. He served 35 years with the Lexington County Fire Service.
Bill was a member of Ebenezer Church. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. One of his other hobbies was supervising his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted and faithful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be forever loved and missed.

A Funeral Service will be 11 am on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Ebenezer Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with honors and Masonic Rites. The Shockley family will receive friends after the graveside in the church fellowship hall.
