William Edwin "Ed" Derrick

Mr. William Edwin “Ed” Derrick, 86, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. 

Ed was born on July 31, 1938 to the late Edna Ruth Haltiwanger Derrick and the late William Edward Derrick. He is also preceded in death by his siblings; Mary D. Henry, Charles Derrick, David Derrick, and Richard “Dick” Derrick.  

He is survived by his nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him.

Ed graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC. He received his Bachelor’s degree from NC State University. He returned to Salley in 1962 to work at his family’s cotton gin and farm. He was a Magistrate in Aiken County for Wagener, Salley, and Perry and was the Town Judge for Salley and Perry. Ed also worked in real estate and rental properties.

Visitation for Ed will be from 4 PM to 5 PM Sunday, August 18, 2024 in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A Service Celebrating Ed’s life will follow at 5 PM also in the chapel. Burial will follow in the Rodgers Family Cemetery.
