Dear Family,

Please accept my deepest sympathies and a few words of comfort from God’s Word, the Bible.

When someone you love dies, you are left with much pain and sorrow, but you are not without hope. Our loving Creator did not intend for us to die, so he promises to reunite us with our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. (John 11:23-25, 38-44) Knowing you will see your dear Myrtle again will hopefully bring you some comfort during your moment of loss.

Or merciful God, Jehovah, is also there for you now to help you endure difficult times such as this. (Psalms 55:22; 121:1-3) So, please rely fully upon “the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials.” (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4) I will also include you in my prayers.

I wanted to reach out to you during this sad time to offer my condolences. While nothing will completely take away your grief, by meditating on God's promises found in the Bible, you can find real hope and the strength to keep going. I have found the scripture at Isaiah 25:8 to be especially comforting. Here it promises that God "will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces."
